Windsor Idiomas in Madrid was founded in 1986 and taken over by its current owners, David and Janice in 1999, both qualified and experienced teachers.

LOCATION

The school is located on the second floor of a shopping-centre in a well-to-do neighbourhood located on the north side of Madrid.

The neighbourhood is called Mirasierra because of its splendid view of the Sierra of Madrid.

The school is large and modern, there are 9 classrooms which are well-lit and well-decorated and all have air conditioning.

Facilities for teachers are excellent. Interactive white boards were installed in September of 2008. There is a large well stocked teachers' room, CD and DVD players and access to internet for teachers.

Students range from aged 5 upwards and the academy has gained a solid reputation for Cambridge exams. Class sizes go from 3 to 9 students maximum.

Besides classes in the academy, Windsor has a large department devoted to company classes, in fact these classes account for 50% of total business. This department operates from a location in the centre of Madrid called Cuzco, which is very near to the Real Madrid football stadium.

Job Information

Full time contracts with 24 hours/week contact hours are given to those teachers who are based in the academy in Mirasierra and hourly, part times contracts are usually issued to teachers working in companies.

Prospects for development are excellent in Windsor as the school is constantly innovating and is often on the look out for teachers who are dedicated and show initiative.

Requirements

Teachers must hold the TEFL qualification as a minimum and teachers with a PGCE are highly valued for teaching positions within the academy as approximately 70% of the classes are with Young Learner groups.

Experience is not essential as training is given via training workshops and 1.1 coaching, what is essential is a conscientious, hard working and dynamic personality.

All teachers must be EU passport holders, hold a university degree and be committed to staying for the full academic year.
