International House Irun
IH Irun is a branch of IH San Sebastian. Teachers work for the same company, which locally is simply known as LACUNZA and receive full support from the main school in the form of educational backup, materials and training.
We are looking for effective and highly motivated teachers who will show a genuine interest in the company's clients both inside and outside the classroom. We expect them to be flexible and to participate enthusiastically in all our company's varied activities. We will give ample support to enable teachers to perform at the required standard, as well as provide multiple opportunities for professional development in the form of the various courses, seminars and workshops which are held throughout the year. Lacunza - International House is a recognised centre for the University of Cambridge Examinations and is also a founder member of EAQUALS, the European Association for Quality Language Services.

The school occupies the first floor of a block of flats in the main commercial street of town. It has six classrooms plus a staffroom. It has a Director of Studies and a secretary. The classrooms are all equipped with whiteboards and cassette players. Teachers share additional equipment, such as a video and OH projectors. There are Internet facilities located in the building.
Future Developments:
Business classes and classes in local schools
Main Activities:
- General English Courses for Adults
- General English Courses for Juniors

- Exam Preparation Courses.
Useful Info:
We place a lot of importance on in-service development. After working a year at the school, it is possible to do the DELTA Distance Training Course, and the school supplies 90% funding for this, subject to conditions. There is a lot of experience in the school's teaching staff.
Accommodation:
As well as in Irun itself, accommodation can be found on both sides of the border with cheap rents in the picturesque coastal village of Fuenterrabia, on the Spanish side of the Bidasoa estuary, and Hendaye on the French side. Both are within cycling distance of the school. First year teachers not recruited locally are entitled to a settling-in allowance of 205Û. Help is given if teachers do not speak Spanish, although teachers should expect to pay a fee to an independent accommodation agency. Some teachers choose to live in San Sebastian and commute to Irun as there are good and relatively cheap train services between the two towns.
