About Huelva

International House Huelva
Huelva

IH Huelva was founded in 1968 so it is well-established and has an excellent reputation locally. It is centrally situated in purpose-built premises comprising ten classrooms, three offices and a well-stocked and resourced Teachers' Room. At present there are eight full and part-time English teachers, one French teacher (part-time), a Director/Director of Studies, two Studies Co-ordinators and two secretaries. There are approximately 650+ students studying General English at all levels, including Cambridge exam classes. There is a high percentage of younger learners (from age four upwards) and some company classes, both on and off-site. Classes take place from Monday to Friday - mainly in the afternoon but there are some morning classes.

Teacher development is a high priority and teachers' meetings and regular observations are part of the employment agreement. We have a very strong Younger Learner's Department and give a lot of support to teacher's who don't have much experience in this field. However, no-one teaches only Younger Learners -timetables are varied and we try to adapt them to people's preferences and strengths. People who work here enjoy it and find it a positive experience.
