About Seville

ELI (English Language Institute)
Seville

ELI (English Language Institute) is a private language school, with 13 centres located in and around the city of Seville, in Andalusia, Southern Spain. A member of ACEIA, the association of language schools for Andalusia, ELl was founded in 1980 and currently employs around 70 full-time teachers. Each teacher is allocated a classroom with whiteboard, computer, internet connection and projector. 80% of the classrooms also boast interactive whiteboards. All centres have well-equipped staffrooms.

Our students range from 4 year-olds to adults but most are in the 9-16 age bracket. The younger learners do two hours a week and the older children, teens and adults three hours a week from October to June. We offer general English courses from beginners to advanced levels but also prepare students for external exams, such as the Cambridge or Trinity exams.

ELI is a company that believes its staff is its number one asset and dedicates thought, time and resources to caring for its teachers. It offers them a comprehensive Professional Development Programme which includes pre-course induction sessions and in-house training sessions throughout the academic year. Our Director of Studies and team of trainers give most of the weekly seminars and workshops, although some of these are provided by guest speakers. The DOS and trainers observe classes and offer support and advice to teachers and there are also opportunities for peer observation within each centre. Similarly, we encourage our teachers to attend external training days and conferences. The school covers the costs of these and subsidises courses such as the DELTA or the IH Young Learners course.
