El Centro de Inglés Idiomas Bailen is a professional language school dedicated to quality teaching and teacher development, located in Bailen, in the province of Jaen, south-eastern Spain.

THE SCHOOL

The school opened in September 2007. We are gradually building up our student numbers and will be needing a part time to share with El Centro de Inglés, Andujar in September 2009. We teach English to children (from 5 years), teenagers and adults from total beginners to advanced level. We also have business English classes and a large demand for French. A large percentage of our students are young learners. We prepare students for all the Cambridge University EFL and Trinity College oral exams. We are an official Trinity centre.

THE STAFF

At present there are two teachers who are the directors/owners of the school, and a secretary. We run in-service training and have an on-going teacher support and observation programme which is run from the El Centro de Inglés Andujar in conjunction with our school. You will be working with two highly experienced teachers who will provide support and guidance as well as having access to all the wealth of resources in our Andujar school. External teacher training will be funded by the school.

THE TIMETABLE

Most timetables begin at 4.00/4.30pm and finish at 9.30pm. On an average day you will be teaching four and a half hours. There are normally no morning classes and no Saturday classes. We finish at 7.30pm on a Friday afternoon. An average timetable would be 21 teaching hours although you are paid 34 since the remaining hours are put in preparing classes, attending teacher's meetings and carrying out administrative duties. More hours will be offered if available.

FACILITIES

• Brand new premises, with centrally-heated and air-conditioned classrooms, all with modern furniture and whiteboards. All the classrooms have natural light.
• Small groups (max. 12 students) graded according to age and level.
• Staff room with photocopier, kitchenette, microwave, fridge
• Computer access and broadband connection
• Growing selection of the latest EFL, video/DVD and young learner's materials, the most recent course books, games etc. We also have lot of new teaching resources which we have designed and made up especially for the school.
• A lending library (books, DVD's and magazines).

Assistance on arrival, help with finding accommodation, paperwork and Spanish classes.

Classes start on Wednesday 16th September 2009. The term finishes end of June 2010. Teachers are expected to be in Bailen/Andujar by Thursday 10th September in order to attend teachers' meetings and induction sessions.

Requirements

• Native speaker
• EU national/valid work permit
• University degree
• CELTA/DELTA/Trinity College TEFL qualification
• Previous teaching experience (including young learners)
• A working knowledge of Spanish
• Experience of the Cambridge and Trinity exams valued
• Ability to teach French would be an advantage
