Alaquas, Valencia

TEFL AlaquasAlaquás is a town in the Valencian region. It has about 35.000 inhabitants and belongs to the metropolitan area of Valencia. It is well connected to the capital by bus and train.

The Palace – Castle of Alaquas dating back to the 16th century in one of its highlights and most antiques buildings and is currently used for exhibitions and concerts.

Festivities in Alaquas take place the first ten days of September and are celebrated in honour of its patrons. The acts include “The Singing of the Carxofa” (Artichoke)

TEFL Alaquas Moors and Christians, Processions, Parades and a Rock Festival (FRA) among many others.

The town also celebrates Fallas in March and the arrival of the Spring in April with "Festa del Porrat" festivities.

Alaquás is twinned with the Spanish towns of Lanjaron in Granada and Jerez de los Caballeros in Badajoz and also with the Italian town of Cremona (Lombardy).

TEFL AlaquasIndustrial production is mainly concentrated in the furniture section although the growth of industrial areas has allowed the development of other sectors like food companies and metal industries. Most companies are small with less than 10 employees and are settled on the two main industrial estates “El Bovalar” and “Els Mollons”. “Services” occupy the second largest sector in local economy where more than 40% to the population work.
