Questions YOU Should Ask at an Interview for a TEFL Job in Spain
- Will the contract be full-time or part-time?
- Will I have syllabuses to follow?
- Is there much paperwork (reports and assessments etc.)?
- What is the school policy on Spanish in the class-room?
- Will my opinion on the makeup of the class be considered if, for example, I should consider a certain student unsuitable for a particular class?
- What help might I expect if I have discipline problems?
- Is there any assistance with finding accommodation at the start?
- If there are school holidays at Christmas and Easter, will I be paid the full month?
- If I should wish to stay on for another year, what should I do about it and when?
- Will I be given the complete school calendar before the first term begins?
If full-time, what are the teaching hours? Of the rest for preparation, what is the school policy about being on the premises? Will I be covered by Social Security from day one?
If so, how much of me am I permitted to put into each class?
Is there much resource material available?
What is the school policy on photocopies?
If there is, what is involved?
If so, will I be paid before the holidays begin?
